Discussing and Defying New and Interesting Advancements in Science

Touch Bionics allows amputees to give the middle finger

In the future we will still be using lego.
In the future we will still be using lego.

Missing one, or all your fingers? Me neither. But a few people are and they are pissed off because regular everyday things that we take for granted like picking up Lego, Picking strawberries, and picking your nose have been out of reach for them, literally. The good people at Touch Bionics have changed that using their new bionic fingers in the device ProDigits, which allows its users to bend, touch, pick-up and point which are all the main functions of the human hand. The device costs anywhere from $57,000 to $73,000 which is not cheap. So while your looking down at your unkept, untrimmed, greasy monkey paws hovering over your keyboard and mouse, appreciate that you at least have them and maybe one day we will have the science to finally give you a prosthetic head, although I doubt it.
